The Mission of the League of United Latin American Citizens is to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health and civil rights of the Hispanic population of the United States.

Founded by Emma Lozano in 1987 to keep the legacy of her brother Rudy Lozano alive, Sin Fronteras is one of Chicago’s oldest existing Mexican organizations. For years, Sin Fronteras led the struggle to end school overcrowding, for adequate housing and health but soon found itself in the middle of the fight for legalization. Sin Fronteras brought thousands of petitions to Congressman Luis Gutierrez in 1997 urging him to introduce the first bill for legalization – which he did. The partnership between Sin Fronteras and Congressman Gutierrez, who has become the leader in this cause in Congress continued and grew stronger over the years.

Please sign the petition below to support HR 2095 to reunite families separated by deportation!

Every day, parents, husbands, wives, neighbors, and friends are deported, many with no criminal record or very minor or old convictions.  They leave behind children and spouses who often have little means to support themselves without them.  The family is forced to choose between leaving the US and going with their family member to a country they may have never even been to before, giving up everything they know and love to try to keep their family together.

We need to fix this system, starting by reuniting families separated by excessive immigration bans and preventing more families from being separated.  Doing so will decrease the emotional trauma faced by US citizen family members including children of the deported.  It will reduce the financial burden the US citizen family members place on the US government when they are forced to turn to welfare to feed their families without the financial help of their deported family member.

We are asking for the passing of H.R. 2095 to provide this relief and reunite our families.

Ashley Memorial Project

In 2007, Ashley Sietsema gave her life for her country serving in Kuwait. Ashley was called to serve her country to protect freedom and democracy and gave selflessly. Now, in the wake of losing his daughter Ashley's father, Alberto, has been placed in deportation proceedings.

No parent of our brave service men and women should be faced with the additional trauma and injustice of being torn apart from their families. Ashley's Memory Project also brings to light the over three thousand US veterans who have already been deported.

They return from war damaged and suffering from many forms of mental illness and addiction. In these cases, many of these men and women receive drug charges and are then ineligible for citizenship and are consequently sent back to their country of origin, separated from their family.

This is no way a government can justify this treatment of the very people who risk their lives to defend it.

We, the forgotten Americans, are rising up to stand against unjust laws, we firmly believe that what God has joined together, our sacred marriage, no unjust laws made by man can separate our blessed families where our American Dream has turned into an immigration nightmare where government officials who swore under oath to serve and protect its constituents failed us miserably, it is time we let them know we can no longer wait until they decide on a reform we have to enforce it just as they did us when our spouses were deported we cannot do it alone we all have to stand together!
